Html/Javascript control of Flash movie

I have a long movie embedded in an html page. I am wondering what is a good way to have the html navigation link to specific frames/scenes in the flash movie? I found some resources like,

Should I even bother with this? Would making seperate swf's be easier?

Any help would be great.

Thx, but the client supplied me with HTML pages. Oddly enough, I can't even use Javascript on the nav now because I realize on the spec sheet, they have meta data for each page. SO I will have to create/embed seperate swf's on different html pages so I can add the metadata to the pages.

So much for experimenting.

I would recommend to your client that the use of flash is pointless if he has several html pages. Kind of defeats the purpose...
