Life is too Exaggerated
love the paper sky, but it seems to barren, and i don't like the road coming out of the border, just my opinion

He has risen!
hey j, i'm liking where you're goin wiht this image. I think the bg texture, the vectors, the use of the city scape, & the sign.
However, i think your perspective is off both on the way the sign is angled and the width of the road. If the 'city' is blacked out, it means it's really far away...so the road should really almost disappear.
The sign...well, the text is hard to read.
The yellow road markers are a tad too much. It's just drawing my eye too much...maybe you could have toned them down a bit, or even done it in greyscale.
Love this battle...keep up the rounds!

I definately appreciate what you guys are sayin. I kinda like this one though, the point wasn't to imitate what we perceive as real. I mulled over the text and the yellow stripes for a while and couldn't figure out what else to do, i dunno.
The perspective thing is kinda like the impressionist cezanne, he would paint in a way that it seemed like there were multiple perspectives in the same image creating visual tension.
Thanks for the crits and don't stop giving em cause it made me go back and rethink some things.

2008 Man of the Year
hey hybrid, I think this next round may have to be the last. j.winslow media is getting overhauled, complete with a name change and everything. I need to get focused before I start falling behind. Anyway take your time and we'll try to make these last two awesome.
