    BioNuclear: feedback please!

I've got a new game I've been working on for quite some time now, if you have any suggestions, please be generous.

here's the game, it's still in it's early beta stages, so it lacks multiple levels, a good tutorial, and cutscenes:

Not bad. Some of the animations need work (slight pauses where you can see the repetition) and some of the larger explosions make my FPS seem to go down to 4, but this is a good game to just waste time on. I do think the pace is a bit slow, but that was probably because I was using the big dude, Argar or something.

Also, what is the red arrow for?

Thanks for the feedback, I'll tweak the animations a bit and if anyone can tell me how to get rid of lag that would be a big help.

The red arrow is there because early testers complained they had no idea where to go, so I added a (very vague) arrow to give them some idea...

I can still tweak it if it needs work. Any other feedback from anyone is good, don't be afraid to be harsh if you have to.

Could be fun if it was to be improved, the idea of walking around smashing stuff up is quite cool, but it really needs a lot of work.

    Things to be improved...

    Graphics need to be nicer
    needs to be much faster
    better collision
fake 3D buildings (ok, maybe thats asking a bit much, but would fit really nicely)
more of a goal and purpose to it
maybe some kinda attack or method of doing damage rather than just walking into things

Sort all those and with a bit of polishing it could be good.

Honestly I don't like it. Not really because it is bad, rather just coz just not my type. Is it really that slow? I like the blowing up animation though, looks kinda cute hehehe. Objective would perfectly fit's in.

Since everyone seems to think it needs to be sped up, I started work on that first...

The swf is currently suppossed to be running at 20fps, I tried increasing it with no effect. I took it up to 100 and there is virtually no difference.

Now, the question lies in would a loading screen before the level or even the game itself help with this?

If it comes down to it, would a Zelda type game where the camera doesn't move, but instead goes to the next square once you reach the edge of the screen interfere with gameplay to much?

I really dont like it. Arrows suck, really slow, animations dont loop properly not clear objective, not my type of game.
I can see why smoe people would like it but its to slow for me to play more than once
