Explosion Effect Help

hello everyone!

i'm trying to make an explosion effect. i'd like to have an array of movieclips explode outward and fade away. it would also be cool if they could sway a little as they exploded.

anyone have any ideas? thanks in advance!

I had a client that wanted this a long time ago. Any kind of particle animation like fires, explosions, breaking glass, etc... VERY hard if not impossible to pull off in flash and look un-cartoonish. I would suggest either a new idea, or hire an after effects specialist.

it wouldnt be particle based, just movieClips thats explode from a point on screen.

But the movieclips would be particles of the explosion. Try it - you'll see what I mean. It will either look like a cartoon, or it won't look like an explosion.

i don't need it to look like a real explosion, i just need a group of movie clips to randomly motion outward from a point on screen and fade away. i like to do this with actionscript so the motion will be random each time.
