[RESOLVED] IE7's 'click to activate this activex control'

i just upgraded to ie7 this morning. there are a few minor (and not-so minor) bugbears - for example, having to add a registry hack to get the menu to appear at the top of the page rather than under the toolbar, and the fact that when i *just* clicked for options on blocking a pop-up it refreshed the page and i lost everything i'd just written

but i noticed that every time i viewed a page with flash on it, hovering over it would produce the prompt 'click to activate this activex control'. i did some googling and found this:

    http://www.pchell.com/support/activex.shtml

which provides a link to a 'fix' (which unfortunately didn't work on my system), but more importantly, alludes to the fact that web developers will have to change the way they display activex controls.

does anyone have any more information on this?

It's only been posted on FlashKit about 14,592 times. If you go to any of the help forums there is info stickied at the top of almost all of them and a quick search would get you the other results.

I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.
