help needed - fade in/out scrolling pictures

    Hi there, Koolmovers!
Messing around with some very BASIC skills in KM I am trying to do an
nerdy looking fading Image-Scroller similar to this

    http://www.effectmaker.com/gallery/i...ler/index.html

.. but I failed (once more) fatality ...

Scrolling Images is easy in flash/KM ... thanks tweening ... but I don´t get how to make the images fade in/out at the beginning/end of the KMmovie ... my suspicion/idea beyond is some kind of masking ?! ...

Controlability by Mouse is not necessary/needed ... the pix have to be just linkable ... so if you got some hints for me, I Would be very grateful

P.S.: I am bothering KM 5.2.2 in the moment ... sorry for my worst spelling - IT CAME FROM GERMANY ...
    Let me learn from you!

    Thx Necro!
Unfortunately i don´t have KM 5.5 (gonna get the update soon) ... Is the technique used in your demo so specific that it isn't possible to solve in my Version of KM (5.2.2) ?

Your demo shows exactly what I urgent need - Which kind of technique did you use? (AS,Masking .... ? ) In Order I can try to ''simulate'' what you've done there.

Any more suggestions/ways to solve it ?

    Pleez help me.

Golden regardz to Necro & the best of the rest ! ;-)

    P.S.:
Viewing the file with an Text-Editor I could see that AS was used just for Mouse sensivity control ... My main Problem is how to get those half-transparent ''bars'' at the beginning/end of the movie ...

You can update it in few minutes.
If you don't have the option "Help / Update Software ...", just contact Bob and you'll get the update.

    p.s.
I use a "tricky" method (based on the Symbol Library), you need to study it.
I have to go now ...
    cheers

    Linking scrolling images doesnt work

Hello Chris & Necro ! THANK YOU! OUTSTANDING!
You guys R0CK! Apart from learning about this fine upgrade possiblity ...
I thank you both for this ultrafast & professional answers.

Gotten it in basic, got almost all need to solve my gradient problem... although Necros solution which makes use of the symbol library would be nicer than some tweening stuff, but i have no idea to get the images linked in there:

Everytime the included pictures are turned into buttons and I put a link on them KM crashes ... My suspicion: Symbol Library files must not be changed to buttons.

Am I right there? Is there an other way to make it work ?

    greetings,
    Stefan

p.s.: Sorry for my scary spelling.
