[off-topic] Was just wondering...
...Are there any female Flash Devs? I've been on these forums for 2 years and have come to the conclusion that it's an exclusively male community. On SFDT, a large animation community I moderate, there haven't been any girls, either. It seems that girls in general seem to steer clear of Flash. Could someone prove me wrong?
Please?

Yes we can
i know several girls who work with flash, all are designers though.
I only heard of two female (pro) flash coders, there are probably way more though.
I also wouldn´t wonder if there are more females around but some are disguised to not get "romantic" offers by lots of 13 year olds.

Mm, still, I haven't seen any on Flash Kit (or at least not this section of the Flash Kit forums).

A very senior man
had a girl apply for a job with us once. she was one of the best we've seen. snapped up by someone else though

yeah...the ones I know/knew were only graphic designers that used flash in a marginal/simple way....no coding beyond gotoAndPlay and stop() .....w/ a few bottons.
I think it's just naturally more of a male thing, in general, the more techy stuff....there are exeptions offcourse, but I think in general that is the case most all over the world in most tech related fields, like programming.

The only one I know of is Bit**eswhocodes.com.
She's in the Flash Tenth Anniversary thingy. link
Edit: Flashkit wouldn't let me write that particular word, obviously.

There were quite a few very talented female flash developers in my Interaction Design classes and the combined ComDes/IT degree when I was at uni. Also, the flash development course I ran last year had mostly female students.
Perhaps because the tech communities are generally male dominated most females don't feel that comfortable joining or participating?
