Oh man... Touch Base. I hate that phrase. Some people in my office still use it as well!
There's a company I walk past every so often actually called "Touch Base" and their office is arranged with all the tables in a circle facing each other... imagine that.. Now that's thinking outside of the box... Blue Sky Thinking eh?
These are the sort of phrases that those really annoying guys at University start using as soon as they get their first sales job working for some dodgy financial company. They always tell you they're going to be earning at least £100k in the first year and then you find out that they're on commission only and haven't made penny.. ha ha ha ha ha....
You know the type - turns up to the pub on a Sunday wearing a smart shirt and immediately starts talking about some deal he's about to make and some investment that's going to 'net' him thousands.. and he says it loud enough for the rest of the pub to hear and you're thinking "Shut up, we're trying to watch the football you pathetic little corporate victim"...
I just forwarded that to my entire company.
For us it's missing:
"Reinvent the wheel"
"You know what I'm saying?"
"Proactive"
and
"How the f*ck do you find your way to work each day you no-talent clown!? What's the matter? Gym class not prepare you for the office environment? How you're even allowed to talk to me is beyond comprehension!"
