Hong Kong -> Bangkok
Yes folks it is yet another going on a trip thread
I'm off to Hong Kong and then Bangkok, I have been to HK before but not Thailand. Any good places I should know about while I am out there? I am open to it all, restaurants, nightlife, tours etc...

confusious say: man who walk naked through airport door is going to banggenesisf5
My mum went just recently, she had a ball.
Went to this really big mosque where they give the day trippers pink robes to wear, I'll have to ask her the name of the place.
How long are you going for?

Was just in HK and Bangkok in June, both for the second time. If I might be so bold, skip BK - depending on your personality, it's not as much fun as other places in Thailand. You can do the major sights in about a day or so, but after that you're better off looking for adventure in the north/north-east (never been, but really want to go) or down on the isthmus. I still have dreams of Koh Samui's beaches in the moonlight...

We are going for 12 days, but only 3 days in BK. Unfortunatly I can't skip out on the schedule because it revolves around family in HK. That part I am not looking forward too...Sitting around a table while they all talk about me in Chinese, I know what they are going to say too...

Im thai and i can suggest you some places for shopping, restaurants, temples, and nightlife in BKK. But if you are looking for Natural places you would need to go to the North(for mountains, rainforest..etc), and South(for beaches) but this would take more days for visit.
-during the day you would probably like to visit temples, shopping places, water market...etc And if you come on the weekend you must visit the weekend market called "JJ market" its a huge market in shades with no aircon. if you can stand the heat u can find many exotic stuffs there. You either love it or hate it but u must go there at least once.
-during night you can go dining in many places in BKK do some night shopping and clubbing.
anyway, let me know in details what sort of thing you may enjoy better

In Bangkok, check out the Chitralada Palace and the giant Buddha.
In Hong Kong, check out the Monastery of Ten Thousand Buddhas.
