    [F8] [Release] Coin Collectors

    Hey guys/girls,

I finished another game and was hoping for some feedback. I've learned so much since I first started in flash making games. Hopefully I'll sit down and pick up some art skills and stop using circles and squares

Anyway below you will find a link and description of my newest game. Let me know what you guys/girls think.

    Game Name: Coin Collectors
    Game Link: Gamestack.org
    Instructions:
    Mouse Movement = Aim crosshair
Left Mouse Click = Shoot bullets
Space Bar = Move player in direction of crosshair
Description: Shoot enemy dots while collecting coins. Each level the enemies will take more shots and become faster (not to meantion each coin will be worth more).

Thank you to all who play the game.

It's pretty fluent. I don't particularly like when you hold space and don't move the mouse. When the gunner reaches the mouse, you should set a flag to make the gunner stop chasing it. Other than that, I like it!

You could techincally add more to this... and it wouldn't be a bad idea. I'd say something like a multi-fire or a sheild, or faster speed; your generic power-ups.

EDIT: You might want to have something happen when the person clicks "Submit" for the highscore board. If you view the highscore, I'm in there twice, because the first time I didn't think anything happened. Having some sort of looping animation will let players know there's action. After the scores have loaded, I'd have a new screen pop up asking if the player would like another go, or simply take them back to the main menu. Otherwise, a person could simply fill the scoreboard with scores by repeatedly clicking the "Submit" button.

    I like it.
THE GOOD:It's very simple but fun, addictive, can get quite hard, nice bullets (I like the idea that they get bigger the further they'r shot), has plenty of potential.
THE BAD: Could have better graphics, could have better gameplay (add some power ups such as sheilds, better bullets, slower enemies, faster charcter movement, bombs, traps, etc), the game is not original (there are some similiar games to this one)
CONCLUSION: Not bad at all. It has lots of potential but it's not original and needs some more love.
    MY RATING: 3/5

I really like this game. Very easy to learn, and quick to play.
I think that it would be nice to get some better graphics, but it's not a killer. Some power ups or something else to do would be a bonus, but keeping it clean and simple is nice too.

The only thing that got to me was that in firefox and IE if you click out of the flash and hold down space it scrolls you to the bottom of the window and you end up dieing. If you put something so that if the mouse goes out of the flash it pauses it would really improve it for me.

I was starting to add power up to the game but I am going to save them for my next game. Who knows it very well might be Coin Collectors 2.. very much upgraded of course.

I have taken care of this now. So a user cannot fill up the score board.. Well they can if they play the game a lot.

Yes, I agree. For my next game I will sit down and load photoshop up and make some real graphics for the game. As I think people are getting tired of squares and circles.

I totally forgot that the browsers do that when you hit space. However, the only reason I did not add a pause to the game was so people could not "cheat" in a way where if they are going to die, they could pause the game and then move their mouse away. However, I will keep the space bar thing in mind with the rest of my games.
