Flash MX2004 files won't open in Flash 8 - "Unexpected file format" - Help!!

    Hi there,

I found out recently (when I handed in a Flash project for uni!) that Flash MX2004 files cannot be opened in Flash 8.

Does anyone experience the same problem or does anyone know why this is happening?

I've got Flash 8 now, but it still says "Unexpected file format" when I try to open my project file. Is there a way of changing the format so that it will open in Flash Pro 8?

I would be grateful if anyone can help me so that I can hand in my project again to raise my mark.

    Thanks.

    Sara

Flash 8 should have no problem opening MX2004 files. I open them all the time. It should be the other way around MX2004 should not be able to open flash 8 files.

Yes, that is what I thought and told my tutor.

I don't know why it will not open though.
