    [help] Reasons not to work with Squize

    here I am just reading over some code that Squize has so nicely helped me out with today......and I come to the collision event function........

    Code:
    if(mc.type=="time"){
    //Bump the time up blah, blah, blah. I'm naked as I write this btw
    					mc.collectedFlag=true;
    					mc.gotoAndStop(2);
    All I can say is I'm glad we didn't use webcams for a video conference on this project

    chris error

    ps. thanks babe, you've saved me on this one

    I find the blind panic induced by having to turn around something really quickly is eased by writing silliness in the code.

    I just wonder how many people are looking at the forum, see the thread title, and think to themselves "I thought as much".

    Squize.

    PS I'm typing this one handed babe... oh hang on... nearly... nearly... and back to both hands again.

    This is why I make a point of not commenting my code.

    render, you should have heard the grovelling to get me on this project. Pitiful is the only way to describe it.
    But hey, what can you do if you can't help the little people now and again ?

    V, glad you didn't have anything nasty to say about working with me ( Although there was lot's you could have said ).
    Oh, and comment your code!

    ladies and gentlemen of the jury(mods)...I must ask that the defendant's last comment be striken from the record, he is obviously unsound of mind. Let us look at the two individuals involved here, one a known sexual deviant who spends nearly all his time online in forums (possibly 'grooming' future victims) the other a known sexual deviant who spends nearly all his time online in forums (possibly 'grooming' future victims)....oh...umm the prosecution rests.

    Oh, and comment your code!

    Only time I reach for the commenting keys is if I want to disable a few lines of code, or leave a reminder in for what to work on the following day. The code's only ever meant to be seen by me, so I figure I don't need to comment it.

    I've learnt my lesson there, I accidentally put something quite rude into one of the Jamie Kane games ( The passenger database ) involving a dog and a nun and it wasn't until the final sweep before it went live that I caught it ( Although it did make me giggle 'cause I'd forgotten about it ).

    Was also tempted to have a Gary Glitter easter egg in the Terrible Triplets game I did, but I imagine I'd never have worked again if that had been found.

    Oh ( All flooding back now ) we did try and draw a willy in the sand of one of the adidas games but there was no way we could hide it well enough, although in one of the adidas games there's a chest freezer, and in that there are little bloody handprints which we totally forgot to remove ( That was a homage to all the children who seem to climb into chest freezers down the rubbish dumps only to have the doors slam shut on them ).

    Did get busted a couple of times in work for giving vars dirty names, in case script kiddies decompiled them.

    Squize.

    I think some really really nasty variable names may also dissuade some decompilers. How about some really, really bad pictures inside a movie clip named "Critical". (You know what I'm talking about...).

    LOL..
    who hasn't done it indeed?

    Just don't decompile any of my source code with your mother in the room, let's just put it that way. Bad points aside, it's a unique way for you to identify your own code in other people's scripts.

    It's when it starts looking like this:

    going too far for FK rules - Tony

    or

    trace (counterVar + "If this variable doesn't equal 32 I am so throwing my computer out the window")

    ... You know you're in trouble.

    I've used both of them.

    I guess LOL but even in the most stressful of situations I've never actually used profanity... I've used like trace("PLEASE WORK FOR THE LOVE OF GOD"), but I've never really thought to use vulgarity. I guess maybe because I'm the only one that sees the code. In effect I'm cursing at myself. :{

    Very true, but the way I look at, there's no one else to blame. Except flash.

    I do sometimes write whole sentences of filth ( In a trace ) when things are going bad, but the favourite, which is a preloaded staple I've taken close to my heart, is just a simple:

    trace("cock");

    Just says everything you need to know.

    Do you declare cock to use a string of more filth?
