anyone else trying to make a game for the armor games competition?

the top prize is 8000$ and the game thats currently in first place is surprisingly simple (but with a 3.96 newgrounds score).

Not worth it if you ask me. The games are rated by newgrounds, which can be very random, and biased towards different authors, plus there are a lot of entries to the competition. The chances are you will submit a good game and get a few hundred for it. The same game could be licensed/sponsored for the same amount as one of the top prizes. Unless you are guaranteed first or second place (which your not) then it isn't worth the risk.

I also looked into it, and honestly dont have any kind of faith in newgrounds ratings. I am not prepared to give a company a free game to tote around in hopes of being paid.

    is my whole point

Remember, the longer someone has been on Newgrounds, the more power one's vote has. And people can vote once everyday.

After looking at the games that do well on Newgrounds, I get really mad. If you put naked chicks in your games or have anything to do with sex you'll automaticall get a 3.5+.

If you a game that you don't really care about, it's worth it to submit it, you really never know how well it's going to do on Newgrounds.

Is it possible not to care for one of your games ?

My games are my children, I'd never drop them in the wild without a good reason. Would you ?
