[F8] Who are the most reliable sponsors?

MiniClip/ArmorGames aside, are there any other good dudes to contact for sponsoring/licensing games?

Shopping around right now for one but I'm worried about dropping my game in the hands of one of those sites that steals your game without asking.

    Cheers
    Kris

Other than the ones mentioned, I've found crazymonkeygames and mousebreaker to be good. I’ve had 4 games sponsored by CMG due to their very good offers and great communication.

just easier to to show and explain what was spnosored, you can see how they like there logos, and also see that Im not blowing smoke, I really have had personal relations with these two sponsors, and thats why I reccomended them.

It also shows you the quality of work I had sponsored, that might also be important when thinking about contacting them, not that mine is good or bad, but least its an example.

    Thats all.....

Are there any threads on 'cover letters' to sponsors? Seems like there might be some kind of skill behind like, like submitting resumes/CV's.

    Cheers for the links.

If you want a sponsor evilkris, the best thiing to do is make up an html page with the gmae running great. then surf the net sending it out to every site that offers sponsoring.

I doubt you'll get burned. and if you do, you'll still find a sponsor out of it. One of them will pay for your game. Then make another and do the same thing, but give notice to your first sponsor that a new game will be available on such and such date.

Thats all I did, Im not starving nor was in dire ned of money so I was not that concerned about being burnt, but it turned out I did not get burned and now have to great connects.

@Ever: The problem is there are sites out there that will take your unbranded game and put it on their site, they may even decompile it without your permission and put their own branding in. Both have been known to happen, and often times there's nothing you can do once your work is out there in the wild. The concept of sponsoring games is for the sponsoring site to get their branding out there on as many sites as possible, if your game is already circulating without branding or with someone else's brand, it may significantly decrease the value of your work.

The idea of this thread is to report reliable sites so we know who we can trust not to steal our work if we show it to them.

Only send the link to reputable companies and take it down as soon as you've heard from them all.

If someone really wants to steal your game, it's going to happen no matter how careful you are. There are obviously precautions that you can take, but don't shoot yourself in the foot because you're worried your game may be stolen.

And we've come full circle ladies and gentleman!

I believe the purpose of his thread in the first place was to compile this list of who is "reputable".

    ;-)

    Define "reputable"...

I've seen a lot of sponsor sites which although they do pay and brand some games, they all seem to have those 50 sprite ripped Mario games ripped from Newgrounds, unbranded. Or even more interesting, they seem to pay money for games with copyrighted characters, and materials (i.e. sprite rips and audio) in them (and/or just place them up there with their brand on them).

Having said all that, I've heard good things about Mousebreaker.
