    [Beta] Space Battle

Just another game that I punched out. I know it's not very original, but this was one of my first goes at AI and I think it turned out pretty good. I do know of one glitch, because of the way the AI is set up. It checks to see which way is fastest to rotate to the opponent ship, but sometimes it moves up during one frame and then checks again the next and finds that the fastest way is down. The ship just wobbles up and down. I remember that Squize actually talked about this during his Heart Attack game and if I remember correctly the way to fix this bug is to have a check to see if the ship has made up it's mind on which way to go and then just go that way. Anyways I don't think it's that major, but let me know what you think. Thanks.

Looks nice, but I don't like the bullets coming back through the other side. The action seems to be too quick to be able to avoid/use this feature properly.

    Good job.

I second that, but something else. Realistically, bullets will move faster than the ship. The bullets should have a propulsion equivalent to that of their own speed plus the ships speed. I can see this definately changing the strategy.

Its pretty hard, never beat it once. Cool game though. Ow one recommendation, you should make the center point of the ship me in the middle of the MovieClip. Just think it would look like its rotating more real. At the moment it looks like it rotates around a point.

Way too difficult, but I like it because it reminds me of spacewar:

One of the first computer games... ever.

    Nice.
I thought the difficulty was about right for me, but it would be cool if you could vary it or make it get progressively harder. Like the other viewers I found the way the screen wraps confusing, and most of the times I died could be traced to bullets coming through the screen to the other side.

I'm a little bit better than computer player, but it's not that I know what I'm doing.

It reminds me a lot of this game in the way it's controlled...

The bullets do move a little slow, and the computer AI is not that great. I simply stood still and the cpu seemed to have a bit of trouble hitting me...

It's a nice start, but I would work on it a bit more.

Sorry for the delayed response. I have been a little bit swamped lately. It sounds like maybe I need to make it so the bullets do not loop around the screen, and also speed the bullets up. I will experiment with this and see how the game plays. Also, I will change the rotation point. I think that I changed it at first to help the bullets, but I will also play around with this.

I'm thinking about adding a timed version of the game where your score is based upon how many kills you have minus the amount of times you were killed. Does this sound fun to anyone?
