Help!
So i Have a brand new Imac 24 inch. Flash 8 runs horribly I can not figure out what the heck is the matter...more and more I am leaning towards a chip issue in the hardware. Anyway here is an example with a BLANK document just clicking out of the the file onto my desktop then clicking back into flash (should be almost seamless, little lag but not much) it take at least 15 seconds...color wheel comes up and all. I ran terminal, and noticed that any time I A)open a new document B) switch between programs C)click the desk top then back into flash it is taking 99.8% of my processing power!!!!???? what the heck really frusterating I have tried everything anyone else experience anything like this, or have any pointers....by the way I go to school at the Academy of Art in SF, i ran terminal on an almost identical computer(that flash runs the way it should) and it was only taking 20-25% of the processor to load, swap programs what ever.

Please help
thanks Brady

Do you know if the other computers are using intel? For intel macs it has to convert the system commands in real time because flash 8 is not made for intel. So it would slow it down but I haven't used flash on an intel so I can't say exactly how much.

thanks for the reply, thank god i finally figured out what it was....Well i have heard rumors that the 10.4.9 update causes a crap load of problems with the intel macs...and that was it. As a last straw i wiped my system, reinstalled, and only updated to 10.4.8 works like it should, it is now only drawing around 18% of the processor, compared to a previous 98%!!!...and waaay faster...whew, I was almost about to loose it.

I don't have any problems with 10.4.9 and Flash 8, seems to be working fine here.
(I'm on a Mac Pro).
