    video with transparency??

Hi there! Is it possible to bring video into flash and have a portion of that video be transparent?

I am working on an intro for a client with a big vault door that opens to the main navigation page.

The vault door is a .mov that the client picked out. Right now I have the vault chroma keyed to open to an image of the main page, then when the sequence is finished, I have the real main page pop up, but with the compression, it looks super artifacted and blurry and the client is upset. ARGH.

    Anyone have any ideas here??

i figured it out using an alpha channel in after effects. thanks!

still can't figure out how to maintain a color over-lay effect in aftereffects and still keep the transparency though. i have a bronze square over everything using vivid light to give the whole thing a bronze feel, but it messes up the alpha channel and where it should be transparent you see a big ugly brown box in flash video. i know it doesn't deal with flash, but does anybody know how to apply a color overlay effect to only one layer in aftereffects without using a solid color layer on top of everything?

or maybe how to apply a color overlay in flash similar to a color overlay in photoshop?

    thanks!

hahaha figured it out!!!! if anyone is having any similar problems, it's all about selecting the overlayed color layer in aftereffects and in the layer menu selecting preserve transparency, then exporting the file as a .flv and select encode alpha channel.. whew! i need to sharpen up on this stuff.
