[help] when I shrink my inages, they become ugly.
To clarify my title; I've got a nice looking image, I put it into flash, resize it (down 20% of original) And it looks HORRIBLE. Is that normal? And is there some option in flash that'll let it not do that?

Resize the image in a photo editor, then import into flash.

It still looks the same...

Right click your bitmap in the library, select properties and choose allow smoothing.

it doesn't seem to help much.

Did you "save for web" your image in Photo'p or in Fireworks as this optimises it for viewing onlne? If your images are really small when reduced to 20%, consider using pixel art images. Also, check your Publish Settings to ensure there's no extra compression going on.

flash is not good with photos. Here are my suggestions for happy photos in flash.
create the image to the exact proportions in PhotoShop (or the like) before bringing it into flash - do not resize in flash!
if you must resize in flash, right click on the image in the library, select "Properties", & click the "Allow Smoothing" button
Also, go in to your Publish Settings (from the File menu), click on the Flash tab, then move the JPEG Quality slider up to 100.
Furthermore, if you have a swf that's 200 x 200, & you embed it in a webPage at 100 x 100 - you will still see a loss of image quality.
If none of this helps your photos, then I would say that Flash is not the culprit.
