    You Want Some Of This?

So I was shooting a Hummer just outside the window with the Bigma on and a 20mm Kenko tube and out of the corner of my eye, I see something move just a few feet from the wall, on the ground. I was lucky he was outside the minimum focus distance. By an inch or two.

    MMMmmmm-m-m-m, yummy...

You want some of this? ? ?

Have to ask ATG...is a Hummer a Humming Bird?
If the answer is Yes, I am amazed they are feeding with worms...always thought they are living on nectar...and it's a great shot for such a small bird...just the green is a bit too blue in the 1st and a tad too yellow in the 2nd!
Couple of days ago I visited a butterfly house in a Zoo and they had Humming Birds in it as well...just did not see on of the buggers in the 60 min I was in there

A Hummer is a hummingbird, but this is not a hummingbird, but an American Robin. He's about the size of one of your blackbirds, maybe a little bigger. Bigger than a starling.

Here's some Ruby Throated Hummingbirds. They are smaller than your little finger.

This is the female percehed on a yard stick. She's about 17 feet away. Shot with the Bigma and 20mm Kenko tube...

This is a lot closer, about 6 feet...

And the male, about 6 feet...

The female again, she hears the click of the shutter...

    But it doesn't bother her...

Me too. Even though I have hundreds of images of hummers, I can't resist taking more whenever I can.

Thanks Matt. The female is much harder to get pictures of and that one has a lot of perspective in the depth of field. You can just never tell what your getting when you shoot these guys, until you can see it on the monitor. They are so small the preview on the camera just doesn't show much.

He was throwing around so much money. He went from the canon 100-400 to the Bigma(Sigma 50-500) and all sorts of other extenders.
