Need a video card
Haven't kept up on hardware.
Don't plan on doing any hardcore gaming, just C&C3, maybe some HL2 episodes when they come out, no online stuff. It's going in a small form factor case, so it needs to not run super hot and be a reasonable size. I don't want to spend a ton either.
I'm not overclocking, the system is going to be a Core2Duo 2.66 Ghz, 2GB of RAM (667Mhz).
Reccomendations?

Wait- what now?
I might get a new graphics card. I just ordered an over-priced SLI alien-ware machine.

Why would you do that? I bet you could of built the same machine for half the price or put twice the money adding more not needed storage space and accessories.

Seriously, you can order all the same parts, sans case, off of NewEgg for much less. I've actually used Alienware's site as a shopping cart for NewEgg.
So, fanboyism aside, bang for the buck, should I look at ATI or NVidia. I've had both in the past, most recently a 9800Pro. ATI's drivers seemed to give more control over video and output settings (gamma, color, interlacing), but kicked my system in the nuts whenever I tried to launch the control panel, which was buggy as hell.
New system, I want clean, lean and stable.

If you cant clean and stable on windows, go with nVidia.
Ati is good, but it seems to have issues running stable with windows. Dunno why, but it does.
I run a Geforce 7950 in my comp, with Core2Duo 3.2 1 gig of ram and I max out framerates in C&C 3 in max settings, so pretty much anything in the 7---series will do ya.

The Catalyst drivers could sometimes be buggy as all get out. I used to go with the beta drivers from 3Dchipset.com and just deal with it.

Alex, the 7600GT is good, but C&C3 is a bit more taxing than that.
This (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814122010) might be ideal for you. Dual DVI, and enough grunt to run you some good games for a while.
EDIT: Also, because of the low clock speed that the 7900GS comes with stock, overclocking that baby can take it right up to the sorta results you'd get from a 7900GTX. And that's not even half the potential the card's capable of!

Wait- what now?
Are their any sites like newegg for the UK?
Trusted sites I mean, not the really dodgy looking ones

Yeah, I'm not overclocking. Small case, and I need a stable system first and foremost. Gaming is definitely not going to be the primary use on this thing.

Get a 8800GTS, they're decently awesome.. i just hope it can run Crysis.
-
If that thing cant run Crysis, the game shouldn't exist...

I feel like it is going to be a SLI top-end game to run at max.

It only requires a 68--, so I doubt it's gonna take too much. Also depends on your processor and ram. I'm thinking near 3 gig rams. >.> Shame I only got 1. Now, hopefully it can use duel core so I can finally put mine to work.
Minimum System Requirements:
# Processor: 2.4 gigahertz
#
# RAM: 1 gig of RAM
#
# Video Card: ATI 9800 or NVIDIA 6800
