computer forensics...
would it be possible for someone to get EVERY single key typed on their computer using computer forensics? Is there like a program or a hardware device that would trace that kind of stuff?

Yep, and it tracked each and every character you just typed. I'm sure you're on their list, they'll be coming for you sooner or later.

gshock. im not sure if this has been asked yet but... what the **** do you do for a living?

You could install a keylogger program to trace every keystroke. However, it will only work from now and won't be able to tell you what happened to your laptop.
I can't see any way of finding out apart from that. You could try searching for files with a modified date of when the person was using the laptop or have a look in the temp file area (also temporary internet files and cookies can give you a clue).

There isn't much you can do yourself after the fact. You can check your browser cache to see if they were browsing the internet or search for recently modified files / folders, but other than that... nothing.
Password protect it through BIOS?

Did you know the person? And why would they do it/care what you have previously typed?

Rush's comment was funny to me. So I laughed. Then I chose to express that laughter in type. So I typed.
I only get to type for 5 minutes twice a day before they make me go back to my cell. Give a guy a break!

Again though, no password? Even if you left it on, it only takes a second to hit the "Windows" key + "l" (lock the computer).
