The Intelligent Chip ... hrmmm ... like Intelligent Design, completely nuts
Have a look: http://www.machinadynamica.com/machina64.htm
The Intelligent Chip is a small Orangecicle orange wafer that, when placed on top of a compact disc player for 2 seconds, upgrades the CD, DVD or SACD being played. The sound of the upgraded disc has more detail and articulation, better dynamics and an absence of digital harshness. Voices are more human-sounding and less synthetic. The upgrade is permanent.
Read the rest for some in-depth scientific explanations.
Found over here: http://www.ilikejam.dsl.pipex.com/audiophile.htm?
Too funny.

Flashkit historian
goes thru long explanation of what is inside the chip.
fails to show any calculations of signal upgrading.
The statement.
that, when placed on top of a compact disc player for 2 seconds, upgrades the CD, DVD or SACD being played. The sound of the upgraded disc has more detail and articulation, better dynamics and an absence of digital harshness. Voices are more human-sounding and less synthetic. The upgrade is permanent.
Appears to be speculative at best with no hard data to verify the claim..

It's a placebo effect at best, if you believe in it, your brain does the rest. The "chip" itself is more than likely just normal silver without any special treatment.

Grandfather to the stars
Well now, children, I can remember when all TV pictures were in Black and White and a company advertised a screen you put in front of it to turn it into a colour picture. My Aunt bought one and it did give her a colour TV picture. It was pink. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
