    Cross-Dissolve Problem

I have two animated scenes with limited animation characters (separate heads and legs etc) and I want to fade from one into the other instead of a straight cut. The problem is that Flash's Alpha capability causes everything to become transparent so that you can suddenly see through all the symbols, so for example, the tops of a characters legs suddenly start showing through his body.

Is there some kind of smarter cross-dissolve function hiding somewhere in Flash?

Unfortunately that's just the way transparency works. Perhaps you could try masking off the parts that are behind other elements.

That's annoying. It seems like an obvious feature for flash to have (at least by now after all these versions).

Kinda like how shape tweening should actually work by now?
