    Preloader Problems

First of all, I want to say that I'm VERY happy that my grandmother purchased this for me; I've been dying to learn flash.

This program has been a major help, and very fun!

I've made a soundboard, all on one frame. I'm finished, and would like to post it onto the Internet.

The swf file is 742 KB, so I think a preloader would fit very well.

Added a blank frame before the soundboard frame.

So I go to the preloader options, and setup a very nice looking Text only loader.

    It's applied...

I clear my cache, and upload it to my server.

    I see the loader bar...

And then I see my soundboard after it has finished loading..

Half a second later I see a blank screen. Half a second later, I see my soundboard. Vise-versa.

It does the same thing with 2 blank frames as well.

When I don't use a blank frame, it works fine in Firefox, just not IE. **Not to mention the program tells me I shouldn't use this setup**

    Any ideas here?

Okay, this fixes that looping error. It works in firefox, but in IE, I don't see a preloader at all =\

There isn't the looping error..i just go right to the soundboard. I have cleared cache and everything.

For the preloader to work properly you have to have at least 2 frames. The best way to do this is by adding a blank frame. Reposition it so it will be the first frame and give it a small tween value and an appropriate background color.

BTW If you have a very fast internet connection, you may not see much of your preloader.

I have 2 frames. First frame is blank (6 for tween value). 2 frame is the soundboard. I set the preloader up.

In every browser it works fine.

Except Internet explorer. In this browser, I just see white, then I reach the soundboard, where it works perfectly. So in IE, I just see no preloader.

Thanks for your help, maybe we can this this resolved.

Would it maybe help if I upload my .fun file?

Okay, I figured out my problem. I needed an html file to embed it in with IE. It can't run the swf file alone correctly. I blame Micro and soft.

You know what? I was 99% kidding.

But seriously, it kinda irritates me that IE has to be such a hassel with so many other things.

Just to clarify, I wasn't blaming Microsoft for my **** up

Challange is that vast majority of users use IE and if they buy new kit it will have vista.
Anyway welcome here and let us know how you get on.
