Drag and drop from windows

Does anyone know if there is a way to set up a swf to accept drag and dropped items from windows. I think I should set up a listener but I don't know the first parameter to use.

Say, I want to drop a jpg image from a window onto a swf application and be able to use it in the swf application.

Check out adobe AIR. It is a new program designed to allow web applications to work on the desktop, giving you such features as access to the harddrive and drag and drop. It is in beta now, and its a free download..
