[SHOW/DISC] Fancy Pants 2 Released!
When I took a peek at the new and (supposedly) improved amorgames.com site, I noticed this little gem: LINKY LINKY. Yes, that's 'The Fancy Pants Adventure World 2'!!
I'm yet to give it a test drive, but from my quick lil' play of a small BETA version this game has found ways to push the 2d platform genre even further than I could imagine.
Also on a side note, it appears as though Armor Games are trying to become more similar to Kongregate.com's system/design.
Happy gaming.

When you know are.
Awesome animation and great physics. Presentation is a ton better than the original, from what I remember. Makes me wish there was more to the gameplay, which seems rather bland.

It doesn't really matter to me how it's accomplished, I'm no expert on the subject, but I'm just referring to the feel of the gameplay. The movement feels right, something that you don't get that often.

Pumpkin Carving 2008
I was never impressed with this game. It just seemed like another platformer to me. I agreed with Malee in that there are some forced physics, but it's not terrible. However, once I had to run and slam into oil on the wall to slide UP the wall, I had a LOT more respect for the game.

Hype over content...
Argh, I knew this would come out the same time(-ish) as my platformer.
Bugger.

I love the design of this game, everything from the static sprites to the animations are a joy to look at. For some reason though, I just don't find this one's gameplay as engaging as the first.
It seems to be more holding down the 'right' key and sometimes jumping than anything else, I don't know...
Simply astounding visuals though.

Style Through Simplicity
I can’t say I particularly enjoyed either game. I recognise of course that they are both very well made and a lot of time and effort has gone into them, but they just don’t suck me in . I think I played both for about 10 minutes before getting bored and quitting. I don’t really understand what all the fuss is about. I think I’ll stick to cave story for platforming goodness .
Still, as I said, a lot of love and work has gone into this, so good job to the maker.

There are a lot of things he did much better, but as with others I didn't really enjoy the gameplay as much as the first. Too much wandering around just for the sake of running up walls, without the purpose being naturally clear. At some point shortly into it I just got tired of the same thing and stopped playing. I actually didnt like the movement as much in this one as much as the last, so I wouldn't say that part is perfect.
Hats off to him for getting it done though, I know some will enjoy it.

I agree with all of jjcorreia's points. The really slow turning meant that starting up a wall-jump was quite painful.
I really wish this one had music. The prequel had such a good ditty.
The engine and animation have improved by leaps and bounds, it's way ahead of any other platformers I've seen in Flash. Math-based, perchance? As Malee suggested, it does reek quite a bit of beziers.
Anyone know any good articles on ball-bezier collision? I'm probably wrong, but André's example looks like it uses SAT?

It looks like a perfect solution to many complicated collision problems. I'd like to give it a shot, although this looks like it might involve derivatives... haven't covered calculus in school yet.
