[Show/Disc] Murder mystery: The Crown Jewels

Hi guys,

I'm close to finishing up this game and I'd really appreciate your feedback.

Basically it's a point and click adventure (inspired by all the great oldies).
Although additional puzzles/objects will be added later, you can already finish the main storyline.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on the following things:

• Gameplay: Any bugs/suggestions?
• Graphics: Are they "good enough" I'm not an artist at all (this is the first time I actually tried drawing them myself) so I might consider getting help from someone who is.
• Difficulty: Did you find the puzzles too hard, challenging, too easy, or just boring?

And most important of all, is it fun?
Other suggestions/comments are more than welcome as well, of course.

That's actually really good.

I got stuck after I got the hatch opened because I couldn't pick up any of the candles to get some light in there and didn't figure out any other way to do that. Until then it was pretty well balanced.

By the way, in the dining hall some of the cups show up as null.

The null cups are fixed, good job spotting that one.

About the light thing: One of the staff members has something that would make a nice torch...
(that's the hardest "puzzle" in the game right now imo, so I might have to make it a bit easier)

How big's the game? It wouldn't load for me - the HUD displayed but nothing else would show up...

Weird...haven't heard that problem before.

It's around 500kb, but either way you should at least see it preloading.
Which browser are you using?

Firefox. All I see is the HUD and a black screen. Even with IE i get nothing...

Is this before or after you clicked the "play" button.

Because after you begin the game, the screen turns black (only showing the interface at the bottom) and you have to click the screen once to begin the dialog (if this is the case I should make this more clear).

If it isn't, how far do you get? Do you even see the splash screen at all or does it jump to the black screen right away?

Ah right! First time I clicked a brown bar appeared at the bottom of the screen. I reloaded the page and it seems to work fine now.

had twice the black screen without anything appearing except the menu- the 3rd attempt worked (first 2 failures in Firefox & Opera).

The click system looks very solid,- sadly I dont have much time so I didn´t really progressed much,- still kept in the jail.

Wow, looks fun The blank black screen at the beginning did fool me though. I thought it was busted :O Perhaps just make the text pop-up first instead of making players click on the blank screen

I sure hope you make a tutorial on how to make these types of games cause I love 'em
