flash element(movie) doesn't appear after uploading
Hi evereybody: First of all I have to tell you that I am italian (any italian here? NESSUN ITALIANO?) so I apologize for my english. I posted the same question some months ago but, maybe beacause of the language, I did not understand the answers I got(very gentle answers). Here is the problem: If I import a flash element (a movie) in the program, after saving the animation it is perfectly visible in my computer (both the flash movie I imported and all other elements of the animation) and (still in the program before saving animation) it is visible also if I click on the icon "PLAY IN BROWSER" (from the "FILE" menù) as shown in the image here below:
http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/7083/42newzz8.jpg
but after uploading the animaton in my filehosting site(WWW.DIGILAND.LIBERO.IT), all other elements are visible but the flash movie(I mean that everything is OK except for the movie).
Somebody can help me? At the beginning of my message I asked if there is some Italian among you just because this would make more simple all explications.
Best greetings and many thanks
P.S. Note that I 'm not so able to use the program even because I never find a valid tutorial about it (then in italian any tutorial exists)
CIAO!

maybe you can share the source .movie with us (including all images and sounds in a .zip attached here or downloadable from your webplace. It might be easier to understand what you mean if we can run it ourselfs...
"all other elements are visible but the flash movie (everything is OK except for the movie)" is not understood by me! It does not describe what the problem is!
Is the problem that elements does not show when you run the exported, but they show when you run internally? What version of 3DFA do you use? Maybe you are uploading the .movie without exporting, you should upload an .html and an .swf - in 3DFA press export in file menu then you have an html and swf!

Hi SirN, perhups in my first post (february) I was able beeing more clear:
http://board.flashkit.com/board/show...60#post3806060
anyway I'll try to better explain:
(I'm sorry but I don't know how to do to put here in a zip file the source movie and I have not a my own website: I just use a "filemanager" hosting site to upload my files(audio video and images) in the web
1) I launch the program and click on "create movie"
2) by clicking on "add new elements" I start importing some file from my Hard Disc(music/image) and then I add other elements (as "TEXT BUTTONS")
3) again clicking on "ADD NEW ELEMENTS" i import from my HD a flash movie of mine (Movie with ".SWF" extension)
4) I create animation adding actions, events etc...
5) I save the created animation in a folder of my PC by clicking on "export movie as" (both SWF and HTML are generated)
When I open the just saved animation in a folder of my PC , everything is OK : I can see the animation just like I wanted it to be seen: I can see and hear not only TEXT BUTTONS , IMAGES , SOUNDS, MUSIC and all elements I added or imported in the animation, but I can see without problem also the "FLASH ELEMENT" that I imported (that is the "movie with . SWF extension= see line 3)
On the contrary, after uploading the animation (containing also a flash movie) im my webspace (filemanager .filhosting), i can see and hear everythin else (souns, music, images, text buttons etc...) but NOT THE FLASH MOVIE CONTAINED IN THE ANIMATION (the one I imported from my hard disc)
I hope I 've been more clear now( i beg your pardon)I use "3D FLASH ANIMATION Version 4 Release 6"

Now I understand your problem, and I am sorry to say that I can't help you at all, I know nothing about imported swf's reexported - but i've heard of problems before and if you search for that subject in the forum you will see it dealt with before. All I can say is that maybe it is better functionality in newer versions (4.9.6.8 - have you tried other versions?- I know it is a lot of rewrite perhaps).
PS! Also I suggest that you don't use bold text like you do, it's estetically wrong and generally disliked in forums - like always caps on a.s.o!
-
Thank you anyway New version is just an update of the older one or I'll have to purchase it "ex novo"?
Thank you again , even if I would never suggest anyone how to write on the contrary I prefer when people use bold text because it is easier to read: I consider it a form of respect to others. As you see, everything is subjective.
"like always caps on a.s.o": I don't understand the meaning of this phrase: I guess (i hope ) it's somthing like "good luck". In this case I thank you again, otherwise -if it is something important- please try to use some other terms.
Ciao

You have free upgrades to newer versions as an customer!
THIS IS CAPITAL LETTERS = 'caps on', this is not capital letters = 'caps off'. Yes it is subjective, but in general the majority of people at forums want not bold and not caps (some forums might be different it is subjective - if we had a vote in this forum to have text estetically correct or always bold/always caps - my guess is that the majority votes for estetics (maybe it is forum rules even - have you read the forum rules when registering carefully?). Anyway hope you have success!)

Dear SirN , why you don't read Forum rules yourself before inviting someone else to do the same? Nowhere in the Forum rules is written that users are not allowed tu use bold text or cap characters if usefull to mark and make evident something specific (as the version of my 3DFA). More: there is not written at all that users are not allowed to use these characters. I think that "blaming and bothering" someone because of the text characters he uses (the first time you talk to him !!!) is much more unpolite than using bold text.

I don't think I "blamed and botherred" you! I just raised the question, you are overreacting and missunderstanding me, this conversation is over I hope!

Flash and SEO
I have been working with a few drug rehab centers and they are very into the whole flash thing. Someone who originally did the flash on http://www.kramercenter.com really made it look bad. It almost makes me think of a microsoft office document. So my question is if I put up a strictly flash site will it affect the seo ranking the get? Or does it not really matter and backlinks and metatags should work? If you compare the kramer center site to a non flash drug treatment site like http://www.nationaltreatmentcenters.org a flash one would look ten times better. So someone help me out. Is flash ok for seo?

Granted this is off topic, but.....
Yes and no, depends on the search engine and how it logs the site, meta tags are good, but some ignore meta tags, prefering to go with the text on the page, flash has no text just swf, so.........\
Best bet is to have an intro page with a text description, or put that description below your flash movie in the html, even leave it the same color as the background making it invisible, would work.....
Also you could use and html layout with all your text description, and an iframe with your swf<----I prefer this.

something like this....
http://www.affordablehomes-ok.com/
.........the site is no longer being supported, and I was surprised it was still up, but it should give you a good idea of what I mean by a combination of html, and flash, put together using frames.

Getting back on topic, if I read this correctly, you're file hosting site is not a server, but a place to store files, this might be your problem. It could either be renaming your swf, or placing it in another folder. Try calling the swf directly, if that is there copy the file location from there, and paste that into your html where the file name is.

I had the same problem. You have to upload the flash file(swf) that you used in your movie to the same directory on your host that you save the main file in. Eternal flash (swf) movies are not save in the movie file, just the link to the swf file.
