[LINK] Game design article
How to make a successful Flash game?
...Apparently, he knows how.
I found the article quite interesting, and though a lot of his points seemed more like common sense there's still a few tips for things that many game developers (myself included) overlook.
It seemed like a good recourse to consider when brainstorming for ideas, so I thought I ought to share it.

it looks interesting, however i don't see how you can write an article about making a successful flash game and not mention heli attack

For such a new blog and little posts he sure has got a lot of comments for that post. He must have advertized that well...

Well I found this article only because I stumbled upon a link to it on the mochiLand message board. I'd say that's where all the traffic is coming from.

"If your game is boring add more penguins"
I stopped reading after that comment.

Hype over content...
Synchronicity is a weird ol'd thing.
I just read the very same article last night. I think he makes some great points, and some not so great ones ( Shoe horning physics into a game isn't really an answer, a lot of physics based stuff are just toys with a gameplay element wrapped around it, like http://www.xgenstudios.com/play/pillage ( Although the depth on that is a lot better than most )).
A lot of it also is "How to appeal to the portal kids" which is different to "How to make a great game" ( Although I guess it is how to make a successful game rather than a great one ).
HA3 gets ignored off all these lists as it's not a newground / kong poster child. It's like it's off in it's own little realm of the net 'cause it was a bought licence, rather than a sponsored game filled to the brim with ads.
It's like advergaming is a totally different sphere as well, for some reason.

....he's amazing!!!
If he'd said "cute lovable characters give life to a game and make play more compelling" it would have sounded better.
or "add more kittens" that would have worked for me, too.
