    VESA mounts

My current monitor is VESA compatible. (Samsung 191t, great panel.)

I want to get a new widescreen one, but good ones that are height adjustable are hard to find, and more expensive.

If I buy a new one that's VESA compatible, can I mount it to my old monitor's stand?

It depends if your monitor's stand uses the VESA screwplate thing-y. If not, then it will probably be some sort of proprietary locking fit mechanism designed to slide and lock into the bottom of the panel. If the latter is the case (and it probably is) you are probably S.O.L.

The stand on mine does, I'm pretty sure.

Now I just have to find a 22" wide that lives up to the 191T's legacy. Good clear text, good color reproduction.

Got a new 19"W acer at work, and the color difference between the middle of the screen and the top is drastic.

You can always place a few books under your monitor stand to heighten it.

We do that at my ghetto office. I'm not doing that at home. Nor am I cluttering my desk with an ugly monitor stand.

I had my dad build a cool riser out of wood to match the desk he built me.

I don't understand when height adjustment became a premium feature.
