rollerdodge a game made in a day :D
I made this game in a day, i did butcher my 3d pool game to make this though so there was a little bit of cheating.
A simple avoider type game, but with the user tilting a plane to control the ball...

Let me know any suggestions / bugs and I'm certainly open to suggestions on a graphic for the intro page... it needs a little something.
High scores are not connected yet... its bedtime!

Seems like a neat idea.
One thing I found was one of the other balls stopped moving, and didn't move even when it was tilted ( started moving when it was hit again ), but maybe that is not a problem?
Nice results from one day!
Edit: Or may be the other balls aren't influenced by the tip. Oh :P

I like the concept, kinda like the duckies game you can get on the PS3 where you tilt a water table to move a duck and it's duckies to the drain while avoiding the toy sharks.
The viewport seems off a bit. The tilting doesn't seem realistic, I imagine due to camera angle.
A couple of suggestions, have certain balls you want to hit, and others you want to avoid. Some balls you want to hit could be powerups that let you destroy the balls you normally want to avoid. Perhaps even make some balls blockers that you can hit to move into a position to protect you from the bad balls.
Though it might prevent you from using your cool ball rolling technique (where the symbols on the balls move), you could get even better performance by creating another sphere class that renders circles with gradients rather than polygon bases spheres.

Yeah I just wanted to make a quick mouse avoider game since I didn't have one in my collection yet
I agree with you with the viewport, but it was either have it so you can see it all at once from the top, or have it so you can look underneath the table as well. A demo of that is at

I would be interested to know which one you prefer

I like version two! It seems much more natural.
I think there needs to be more of a visual difference between the view from above and the view from below. An alpha channel set as high as possible for the underside material might help.

Nice but the controls seem a bit funny. Did something kind of similar when I was messing around with papervision... but with a top down view.

When you know are.
mbenny, that Tilt Maze demo is pretty cool! Reminds me of Super Monkey Ball, frustrating enjoyment. I hope you're working on expanding it into a full game.

Well very impressive work within one day
The game is too hard for me, never reached level 4.
mbenney this is a nice game too, but the controls are very hard. Also the top/dow view is not the best IMO for this kind of game.
