Wha? No RSS To-do list widgets?
We're a two man team and we work in the same room. I love basecamp but we don't anything that complex yet. The free ta-da list is brilliant and best of all there is an OSX dashboard widget. This would be a perfect solution if we had more than one mac here. I was shocked to find that there is no yahoo widget equivalent.
Assuming something simple like this would be widely available I googled all the obvious phrases and came up empty.
I'm looking for the simplest of functionality, identical to the osx dashboard widget but for windows. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

How about just writing your own little site where you can manually login and add to-do items, then push out an RSS feed you can subscribe to, then write something in AIR for the front end widget?
That can be a nice little first-time AIR app.

have you tried remember the milk?

I haven't used it, but it looks like it has thousands of options to subscribe to and update your list

The key here is that is not browser based. If I didn't mind launching a browser each time I wanted to check my to-do list I'd just use ta-da lists and be done with it. If I wanted a full blown planner that required so much time fiddling with that you don't actually the WORK done, I'd use basecamp.
A nice little widget or app running in my tray that syncs with my co-workers seamlessly is all I need.
It's funny you say that Taco, I was actually gonna edit my post and mention that it will probably be my first AIR app. I even looked for existing ones.
I would like to start a FK community AIR app project though.

I've been wanting to get into AIR and try stuff out, I just haven't had the free time yet, nor a need for something. You seem to got a nice legitamate need.
I don't know necessarily if an AIR app can run in your system tray, but you can definitely have it refresh every 10 minutes or so. Or use an actual RSS feed reader like in Apple Mail to read the feed. Or even the one inside Firefox/Safari. Pick your poison on that one. It just depends on how complex you really want to get with this.
I'd be willing to throw in some assistance with this and get my hands in some AIR. Maybe even commercialize it?
Gerbs, we need a designer!

well, that rememberthemilk does have a yahoo widget:
http://widgets.yahoo.com/widgets/mind-like-a-sieve
it looks like you can't add tasks, just update them from the widget, not sure.
it also has a mac os widget for your friend
but you could use imified (http://www.imified.com/) to add your tasks via the im program you use.
I guess that you still would need some kind of web app, as you need a server in order to be able to sync easily, so probably Air would be a nice idea.
this two articles might help:

http://24ways.org/2007/christmas-is-in-the-air
actually, the first article offers a download for the completed 'todo list' app

landmark finds argo. One of the rare threads I start that actually bares fruit. At a glance, imified looks pretty d*mn sick, wish they had screen shots though.
That air demo looks like the sh*t too. Good on ya!
