Smile Monkey island-like adventure games engine

    Hello people.
I'm making an adventure like monkey island, day of the tentacle, indiana jones, and those super awesome lucasarts classics, fully made in flash.

    http://rapidshare.com/files/11741026..._menu.fla.html

So far i've got this engine i'm still working on. And a story which is almost done.

i wanted you guys to give it a look, see where i can optimize some code... make it more efficient and easier later on to program the game itself. The idea is to explain my friends how my engine works so they can simply use functions like 'talk', or 'walk to', etc.

i tried to use that SCUMM-VM, but i didn't quite like it. So I decided to make this thing from scratch. Plus i haven't found anything like this anywhere else.

Well, give it a look, tell me what you think.
    Cheers!
    Facundo

People dont like much downloading the flas without seeing the swf first so maybe you could uploade the swf somewhere so it can be played before downloading source fla.

    here's both:
    FLA: http://www.sarlanga.com.ar/x/prueba%...0de%20menu.fla
    SWF: http://www.sarlanga.com.ar/x/prueba%...0de%20menu.swf

the story is going to be about a zombie apocalypse, and the a group of the few survivors. Nothing to do with the graphics here.
And I haven't really had the time to make any puzzles yet... this FLA is only the very beginning.

    thanks everyone!
    Facundo.

I'll be preparing a simple puzzle to test my script these days:

I remember playing around with an engine similar to this for my senior project.

    http://www.nolentabner.com/GQ/

Downloadable versions for PC and Mac since the music made the file sizes fairly large.

It's more of a mix between the old King's Quest games and Monkey Island though, since it's keyboard only. And also buggy as hell since it's all AS2.

I'm excited to see where your engine will go.
    i'm obsessed with video games.

    hey people!
    http://www.sarlanga.com.ar/x/MOTORv10.swf
i made a small puzzle: you have to make a 'mate' (some sort of tea we drink in argentina).
    it goes like this:
    -PICK UP MATE
-COMBINE IT WITH THE YERBA BAG
    -PICK UP BOMBILLA
    -COMBINE IT WITH THE MATE
    -PLUG THE CABLE
    -PICK UP THERMUS
-COMBINE IT WITH THE WATER MACHINE
    -COMBINE THERMUS WITH MATE

    that's it for now...

i still have to figure out a way of making the dialogs work. any advice?
    thanks
