    [old?] New favicon for google?

    I just noticed that I had two tabs open in Firefox with a strange, blue twisted loop or something. I thought it was the favicon to a Linux help site, as I have been searching for some Linux stuff, but it was the Google search result page. Since when has Google had that favicon? Is it something I have missed, or is it recent?

    it's a "g"... the one with the round descender like in some serif fonts. I noticed it yesterday, pulled a tracert on my path to make sure I wasn't being proxied or something.

    Yeah, i realized that later. I don't like it. I liked the one they had before, but I can't remember what it was.

    before it was the big G in google surrounded by a red, green, and blue lined square....

    Yep, I was just about to post that.
    The search box in the Google toolbar still has the old favicon symbol.

    I liked the old one. Made me think of generic brand. Google looses some points for acting like they're one of us.
