migrating inboxes to new host
So I need to save a client from hosting hell. Thing is they've got existing inboxes with stored messages. I'd like to make it seemless as possible but I can't really think of a way to do that without requiring some work per employee. Does anyone have experience doing this for POP accounts?
It's kinda urgent so please speak up.

You could do one of two things... migrate MBOX to MBOX via CPanel - it's buried from what I remember, or try to rsync it.
In both cases, I've had help from the host to make sure I had access to all of the methods I needed. Doesn't sound like that's going to be an option here.
I'll ask around though. There was a guide I ran across that was pretty definite, but it was not found by regular means.

Yeah sounds like I'm going to need tech-support on one if not both ends. I had another client add his POP to his gmail and sync so he at least had a back up but I don't want to make an entire staff do that.

Any decent host will do the entire cpanel to cpanel transfer for you and it should cost less than $5.
It's been a while since I had to do one for a client but I believe Dathorn.com, the company I have my reseller accounts with, charged me half a buck to do the whole transfer.
If I'm not mistaken, and both servers are using cpanel you can just do a complete backup zip of the entire account and restore it at the new host yourself.

it's going to mediatemple who does not use cpanel. Their techs are telling me it's not possible.
