[INSPIRATION] For those of you who haven't already...

Been exploring the X-Box 360 Live Arcade recently, and I've found some real wonders!

The Katamari series is a must-look for any programmer or artist.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zi3Vr2XLvQA&fmt=18

The most unique game mechanic I've ever seen, and breaking highscores is, rather than competitive, collaborative. The control scheme exclusively uses the two analogue sticks, and nothing else.

If you've got an X-Box 360, download the Beautiful Katamari trial from the XBLA; I promise you, it won't disappoint.

Other interesting demos worth a look are Braid (time-travel puzzler mentioned already on FK), Castle Crashers (by the Newgrounds makers of the Flash and console game Alien Hominid), N+ (another successful Flash game gone console) and Geometry Wars (ultimate particle extravaganza).

That is, of course, if any of you guys ever get any spare time.

I think i'm already on your list. But we seem to play games at different times

We should all seriously have a FlashKit game battle. I will murder you all at halo 3.

Mine (read: my brother's) is Liam Got Owned.

As for Halo 3, I'm sure you would win. But Halo 1 on a computer.. that's a different matter (am very practiced thanks to my school's generous IT rules).

    Anyone else ?

( What a great way to get rid of pent up FK frustration. Think how good it'll be to frag someone's ass after all their bitc'hing about as3 ).

I could go for some TF2. I'm a little rusty, but I've been dying to try out my new RAM. :P

Was #1 in the state at Halo 1 on the console... Nothing like 1v4 on Chillout with a 100 frag limit. When I quit Xbox Connect because of the hacks/mods my record was 278:6.

XBLA is 99% big guys ( There are a quite a few games that use the unreal engine there for example ).

Originally it was pimped as a place for original experimental content by indies / smaller in-house groups ( Geometry Wars being a good example, Jet Pac too ), then everyone saw the take up rate ( It was over 10% for a while ) and no one no matter how big can ignore that.

By all accounts though the bubble there has burst. Companies aren't making the money they were just a year ago. WiiWare is were the smart money is moving now.

That door has already closed. Nintendo has their 1000 or so developers they are working with and are not accepting any more for the time being. Also, they expect the companies working on Wiiware to at least be stable enough to have an office location and the resources to bring their games to completion.
