    Bento

Have any of you mac users tried Bento?

I'm curious about it, but it's Mac only. OneNote isn't doing it for me, and, aside from Access or a bunch of spreadsheets, there's nothing similar for Windows. Most "note taking" software like Evernote, I hate.

But seriously, isn't that what a good cp should look like anyway?

I've tried it out and it's quite well made, compared to its sister, FileMaker, which I don't get on with. I would never put it in the same bin as Evernote or OneNote - it's really database-tuned.

Do you want a database or notetaking software?

    Definitely something more database-oriented.

I'd love to hear what you decide on. I'm dying for something extremely steamlined, but also useable. I tried basecamp but like most of these options, if everyone in the office doesn't know the system inside and out, they can be more of a pain than a help.

No Mac, so I can't try it out.

I may be better off just building my own separate db apps using AIR and SQLLite. At least they'll do exactly what I want, how I want it.

I came to the same conclusion. One day I'll have time.

Well, would it make sense then to build something that's Bento-like in AIR?

It's the everyday things that Windows sucks at:

Contacts, Passwords / Accounts, Bill Reminders, Car Maintenence, To do lists, trip planning, vacation logs, etc.

My plan is to start out with a small RSS to-do list and add features as they become obvious.

I eat it sometimes, especially when I am in Japan.
