    Shooting game powerups and baddies

    Im getting ready to build vectoroids 2... and its time for more powerups.

    I'm thinking like 20 powerups would be cool... and Im keen to get the forum rocking with some ideas (that I can then start implementing with collision detection as well)

    What I have from the first game:
    - Bullets, up to 5
    - rear shooting bullets
    - lightning strikes
    - shields

    Ideas for next iterations
    - homing missiles
    - lasers
    - raidenX style bendy laser

    what else?

    I assume its a asteroids with vectors? (though sounds somewhat the same)

    - AS3 because if you want more you need more power
    - more bullets (10,20,50 or more) like a railgun with lots of action on the screen
    - particle effects: expolsions, hits (visual feedback), collision,...
    - motion blur
    - screen shakes (like earth quake effects, when getting hit,..)
    - multi-layer parallax scrolling
    - grapple hook?
    - push force (like wind or magnetics)- pushes enemies and obstacles away
    - dropable mines
    - visible destructable spaceship/vehicle (decals, destruction tiles,...)
    - light effects (tint, blooming, glowing, reflecting,..)

    yeah totally as3, (vectoriods www.blastone.com/games/vector was my first ever as3 game)

    - screenshake is cool , be nice for big explosions.
    - mines is cool.
    - the grapple is very cool.....

    Havent decided between a scroller or an arena.

    If arena Im thinking like the inside of a sphere so that eventually you can wrap around, I think that is a novel twist.

    Effects are a given.... perhaps a 2d scroller with a central perspective effect on the background eh render

    Orbiting balls of fire/whatever, that orbit the main character and act like a shield. When an enemy tries to ram the player, the orb might hit the enemy, thus making him explode before he does any damage to the player.

    I might come up with more later on.
    Needs an update...

    I've really got to finish Orbs haven't I, I mean you're working on a sequel to your game and we started them at the same time!

    As for ideas, just read my mind like you some how always manage to do anyway
