    a bit offtopic:
but honestly this is one of the best typo flash movies I have seen so far here, because usually typo sucks bad ass in most submissions here.

Overal it feels light and well designed,- no overuse of eye-candy or eye-sore effects, good job

I guess I'm not hip enough because the only one I got was the Doors.

Also, you should really show what the correct album is when you hit the skip button.

thanks for the nice words Render, and sorry you aren't hip enough SoB

About showing the correct album afterwards, we did consider that, but people out there are getting fairly competitive, with certain users of music forums even teaming up to beat other ones.

It's been fun seeing this game get out there, as for once, our target wasn't flash games site, or even I guess, 'normal' flash gamers. It's been recoeveing some great feedback from the, ahem, 'blogosphere', though there have been some very funny comments about our poor old Mime artist Matt

Ahh, I see what you mean about the competition involved. I didn't think of that! I'm glad the audience is enjoying it. It's one of the most creative things I've seen in a while. So I'm glad the hip cats can enjoy it.

I'm digging the game portal as well. It's good that you decided to keep it simple.

I don't care about the competitive jerks. It's just so anticlimactic to hit skip, skip, skip and have no clue what the mimes were miming.

All I got was the Doors, and I recognized the AC/DC one, but didn't know the name. I stopped playing around #15.

I suck at this... I often know the band but not the album name.

CONFIRM OR DENY: One of the Mimes is played by chriserrorplain?

But you have to keep in mind the audience that the game is targeting, it's for a rock music and pop culture web site. Most presumably there will be a hardcore enough audience that will welcome this kind of challenge. The fact that chriserrorplain mentions that people are teaming up to find all the answers proves that he's onto something.

This reminds me of a long running series of "Name that game" quizzes on a forum I frequent. Games have to be identified by a single screenshot. There's a bit of social competition involved to see who can identify the most games. It's often a challenge to identify the most obscure one, having to take note of clues like the screen resolution and whatnot.

Perhaps if this game was expanded to allow players to compete for a certain length of time and after the competition was over, the answers could be revealed. This would probably satisfy everyone's needs (except the programmer that has to implement it!).
