It appears that the chairlift's fold-down seat was somehow not in the lowered position, which caused the man to partially fall through the resulting gap. His right ski got jammed in the ascending chairlift, and that kept him upended since his boot never dislodged from its binding.

Again how is that even possible. i mean really, unless this was his first time ever skiing ever in his entire life i don't see how its possible to not notice the bar is down.

further more all ski resorts where i live have 2 people at every working lift. one person that guides the chair to the people that are going to be going up, and another person at the top to kill the lift when a person falls upon getting off.

So again captain ******, how is it possible that between the staff and the grown man to manage not to notice the safety bar was down? how did the child get in fine yet the grownup did not? was he not wearing any undergarments? no underwear? i mean honestly wtf. why didn't upon noticing the bar was down he not just ski forward to the little drop off area in front of most lifts and wait for the staff to turn off the lifts so that he could catch the next chair up?

I don't know. How is it possible that a toenail ends up in a Whopper? How is it possible that a woman gets 3rd degree burns from a cup of coffee? You're assuming that not only is the skier knowledgable enough not to fall through the open bar, but that the 17 year old, pimple-faced, meathead stoner of a lift attendant has a 100% success rate in lowering the gate.

i would actually hope that they had more sucsess raising the bar as the bar being lowered WAS the issue.

hot coffee burns there are warnings on the cups
grumpy employees put **** in peoples food.

adult skiier should have the common sense to a.) get into position of the oncoming chair, and b.) look back and make sure they are correctly situated and that the attendant is guiding the chair in.

goes right up there with "how to put ski boots on" and "how to put your boots into your skiis" as the first things you learn on the first ****ing day
