    Ski and 3D. Kind of.

Just want to show my latest unfinished project. I love when an idea popup and you finally see a result of it after some hours of coding.

A lens flare gave a nice touch.

Very cool. Is this voxel terrain, only generalized to wider strips in between? The only thing I would comment on really is you should make the terrain colours gradient, so it blends in better. Otherwise, it feels as if you're sailing on a white sea, and the waves are pushing you up and down. Still, very nice!

    Keep it up!

Its just filled stripes and there is no easy solution to get it more gradient without performance lost. Though I decreased the difference of colors to make it look more clean.

I definitely got a scare when about to go down a steep hill so you getting the feeling of depth right for me. Clever effect with the hills.

Alright. Wasn't sure how much of an issue performance was. I played it again, and after you get used to it, and as long as you move fast, then it all feels alright. And yes, when going down steep hills, you do get a thrill out of it! The only suggestion I can make is making it into a real game now, and also maybe increasing the traveling speed (though it might be a bit of lag on my end...).
And don't have the speed rely on ymouse position, but on the steepness of the hill + the rotation of the player.

Seriously, if you make a good game out of this, maybe even races with other AI players, it would really make a good hit! The gameplay is very casual, which will really act good if you get a good point to the game, streamlined play, and fast paced. To target both casual and loyal audiences, you should add in a storyline of competitions, and add a lot of widgets people can play around with.

Again, it all looks fabulous, and you should start getting it to the next step!

Very nice, brings back memories of a one-floppy game called Winter Games or something. But I do have some critique:

The mountain just seems to rotate with the players eyes, which takes away the feeling of depth. Parallax scrolling (relative to the players eyes) would help there. Try making a movie at a window with your mobile phone so you can see how the effect would work.

I had the impression that the horizon was around the middle of the screen, and the end of the hill was above the middle of the screen most of the time. In the end I seemed to be going uphill most of the time.

    >make everything vectorial, it pixelates a lot.

Its rendered in 640x480, which is relative high, its hard to do a fullscreen game in Flash with high frame-rate.

    TOdorus:

Its a shame that there is performance limits in Flash With another wider background image and maybe one more layer I can try to a better effect.

This looks really great! The 3d effect is convincing and it plays very well (which is the most important part).

The framerate is very good as well, which is a huge plus.

erixon, your portfolio's looking very impressive!

Great work! It's pretty impressive and looks like it can get to be quite a great game.

It's very cool, but only when I shrink the window down. You should make this with 1 fixed window size, otherwise everybody will get widely varying performance (especially the dudes with browser maximized to a 1920x1600 screen!)
