NYC here I come
So a friend just got in touch with me about how her and a friend were going to the city tomorrow but her friend blew out her knee so they had to cancel. They offered the tickets to me for a discount but I told them I couldn't afford a random trip to the city. I jokingly offered to trade them each a print for the tickets- and they actually agreed. So I guess me and the lady are going to the city tomorrow
Now since this trip was completely unplanned we don't really have a budget to go off and do all sorts of crazy stuff and I haven't been for years. What should we go and do? Any cool events happening around the city we should hit up? I'll obviously be bringing my camera(B&H will be closed!!!!!!!!!)

coming to western mass would be like staying home, however if you had gone to boston you could have seen the nhl playoff favorites Boston bruins play, Or you could have seen the celtics play the bulls, or you could watch the redsox play, Go on a duck boat tour, And in general have some not cliche NYC fun.

Is someone giving those tickets away, silver? Yet again, you've added...well...nothing to a thread. Thanks.

you can get free tickets, just bring a giant sign that says "new york sucks" and everyone in boston will just give you stuff
for free.

So as we were doing this on the cheap we decided on just 1 goal for the day and then whatever we ran across on the way we did. We wanted to check out Alex Grey's gallery as we are both fans and have been for a long time now. We got the address off the site and just went but somewhere along the line we misread the directions. We got dropped off at 49th and Broadway and thought his gallery was on 77th street so we headed that way. But upon arriving at 77th street we come to find out that his gallery is actually #77 ON 14th street. So we rebegan our adventure and headed that way while stopping for all sorts of fun little things. A guy wrote us a poem for free with this old ass type writer he had- which was actually pretty decent for on the spot(I will type it out tomorrow). We did end up finally at the gallery and man was it worth it. His work has always amazed me but seeing it in person and the amount of detail and how large some of his work really is is just incredible. This gallery had the life cycle and some other various pieces on display(this piece is insane. it is almost impossible to notice all the small details and it is huge) and a room projecting his COSM dvd with a little sitting area on the floor. We watched a little bit of it only to realize the 3 guys next to us were on their own little trips enjoying the work. Then we power walked back to 49th from 3rd to make it on the bus at exctly the time we were supposed to leave.
It was a great little spontaneous trip. Makes me want to plan a weekend trip there so we can hit up a show or two and see some other places we missed and Alex Greys other gallery of the Sacred Mirrors.
Silver I don't mean to hate on your state but if I had to choose Boston or NYC I would choose NYC every time. There is just much more going on and a lot more people and places to walk around and see. Also almost all the things you suggested were sports related. We aren't exactly huge sports fans. At least not enough to go anywhere just for them.
ps: the Apple Cube store was pretty wild and I didn't think I would ever see that many hipsters in one place.
How was everyone else's days?

They all head there from Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Take the L train towards Brooklyn -- follow the douchebags.
