2 Flash files on a page - one-way timeline communication

I have an HTML page with two Flash files. One Flash file (Flash A) is a simple player with the time-line broken down into label start and stop points. The other Flash file (Flash B) contains a carousel of individually linked images that correspond/link to labels in the Flash A timeline. The links in Flash B are loaded via XML.

I'd like to be able to call a javascript in the XML link and pass the frame for Flash A to play.

As you can tell, I'm not a programmer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
