    RIP data DVD ISO's

I just bought a laptop sans optical drive, I want to keep a Windows ISO and some other stuff on there, just in case. I have Nero 7, but it will only create its stupid proprietary NRG format, not ISO.

    What should I use?

Also...it used to be possible to buy legit XP install DVD's as "media only", no license key, for like $5 - $10. I can't seem to find those for Vista, but I'll need one because I'll be adding/removing windows components, and Dell only gives you that stupid system restore partition.

...and now I have tape all over my face.

I'm not sure about the Vista OEM disks only - things changed license-wise with Vista and the media was affected. You could contact your manufacturer. There used to be a program with Microsoft but I think now it's only a one-time upgrade in media to 64-bit Vista for shipping and handling.

Now... about your ISO... use IMGBurn. It's free, does a great job.
