    [Help]Trying to make a game

    Hello,

I want to make a game but I'm not sure how to make the database and stuff. As for example theres this game called MouseHunt check it out at apps.facebook.com/MouseHunt and basically I want to make a game a bit like that but I'm not sure where I need to store all the info about it and how to make it come up when needed.
For example in the game you click a button and depending on your trap and bait you catch a mouse. Can someone explain to me or redirect me to an explanation about how this is done. Because I reckon that I can make the actual website and what it looks like but when it comes down to actually it doing something thats the hard bit. Also it's gonna be multiplayer so there needs to be accounts that can be seen by other players in the profile.

Either someone can join me in making this or could someone just tell me how I could do the whole multiplayer it knowing what to catch and stuff.
(BTW it's not going to be catching mice lol)

    Thanks

I think that a lot of people have misconceptions about how complex some of the games on facebook are. I believe that to even have a VERY simple multi player aspect, you need to be a php monster.

Unless you really know what you are doing, or have lots of help, this is going to be very hard.

I do know how hard it is. Thats exactly what motivates me. Don't worry I'm planning on spending a lot of time of making it. Do you think I should make a non multi-player flash version and see how it goes?

Hmm... Yes I think that would be good. People are going to play your game because it's fun, not because they can play it with friends. Playing with friends is just a bonus. I'd say get the game engine going, then make it multi player. If you know exactly what you are doing for the game, converting it to multi player after it's done should be less time consuming than being stuck on something at the beginning (Trying to make it multiplayer right away)
