Running Plodding & Limping
What laptop you got? I need a new one!
My old Dell laptop has finally bitten the dust and I'm after a new one, I've always had Dell machines, both desktop and laptop but for the 1st time thinking about leaving the Dell nest.
Toshiba, Acer, Asus...any other make, any of you fellas got these? Any good?
Just need something for photoshop, flash etc, looking to spend no more than about £500.
I know certain machines bought now offer a free Windows 7 upgrade, but do you think its worth waiting a few more weeks and get a machine with Win 7 already installed?

I have Asus, really like it. Bought Acer a few months ago - couldn't stand it, switched back to Asus.

For laptops I've been a big fan of HP. My wife and I each have an HP right now and they've been good to us.

I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.

acers are cheap and poorly constructed.
I have one and I always have reservations about taking it out of the apartment.
Other then that it's been good to me.
If your looking to impress someone get an alienware. Lots of money lots of power.

If someone tells you it can't be done,
it's probally because they don't know how.

If you do any number crunching make sure it has a numpad

Are you looking for a budget system, where as long as it launches, it's workable?
I'm on an Acer Aspire One / Asus EeePC (yes, dear all, these are netbooks), and it's been performing nicely -- of course it's inferior when compared to my desktop giant, but it runs PS, n even Flash nicely. But not both together. :S
Anyway, I heard Compaq's going to be given a new breathe of life, if anything cheap is to go by these days.. At least it has a numpad, for consolations.
