Congrats, nice game. I like the overall atmostphere. But please make the hero go faster, it can be boring when you wait too much.

Thanks for the feedback Sietjp. I'll consider speeding up.
Does anyone else think it's too slow?

I only put briefly, but it seemed pretty cool. I vote for a faster guy also!

Yeah the guy's way too slow.
Play the original a few times and compare.
Also when you let go of the left or right keys, the guy keeps going. I don't like that. I also don't like that pressing up makes him stop.

OK, speed + 10%. It isn't much but i don't want the game to be very fast. I know that the original is much faster, but the idea is to have slightly different game experience.
Maybe I should put a choice of 2 speeds - slower and faster...
-
Now available 2 speeds to choose from - "normal" and "fast".
Hope the "fast" option is fast enough.

When you know are.
This is very well made but I think its a shame that its soooo slow, even in the "Fast" mode. I don't see why the movement should be so slow when the stages are so huge and largely empty. There really needs to be more "Runner" in Golden Runner. More like Golden Stepper or Golden Walker.
Besides that though, the presentation is great. I love the artwork and the page fits really well with it.

Good News everyone... I updated the speeds and now both "normal" and "fast" are faster.

Nope they are not - just the first ones...
Thanks for the feedback, Son!

Looks great. Didn't have any problem with the new speeds.
I like the look and colours of it. I've never played lode runner before so this gameplay is new to me. I like it, but unfortunately I didn't get to play much of the game, simply because I'm no good at it
If you want to make it more accessible, it might be an idea to make tutorial levels, or just plain easier levels.

Glad you liked it.
There is a "how to play" section with video tutorial for the first level. The idea was the first level to be learn-to-play and the next levels to be harder.
I decided the learning level to be just one, because if you know how to play it would be so boring to play more than one of these.
Greetings!

I appreciate you upping the speed, it's a lot easier to play that way. I think because the first stage is so empty and because of the old speed, it would turn off a lot of players because it takes so long to get to any action.
My only complaint now is that you start with 0 extra lives. How unforgiving. It's really detracting when you spend a minute playing this stage and one little mistake makes you get a game over. For me, I couldn't figure out how to kill the bad guy at the top. I figured it out thanks to the tutorial but I'm over it right now so I'll try again if you give me 3 lives.
I really like the video tutorial. But I only found it because you mentioned it in this thread. I think you should embed the video on your "How to Play" page.
If I ever beat the first stage, haha. I hope you have a stage select screen for if I return to play. It seems you're keeping a sharedObject for my name so you might have that already.
Lookin good!

Good idea.

There is no stage select and it is not very possible, because some of the levels are in random order.
And you start with a single life, but you get one more for each level.
