    Jpeg issue

    Hi I have a very simple movie where a long horizontal image (a jpeg) scrolls across the screen (via regular motion tween). When I publish the movie, the .swf file looks perfect in my flash player, but when I view the accompanying .html file (into which the movie is embedded), the jpeg just shows up as a red box. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

    are you loading the image , or is it imported into the flash library ?

    Also, I am using Flash CS3 and I have flash player 9 installed on my computer.

    What are your publish settings ? Also , what browser are you testing in this in and what version ?

    I tried it with Flash player 3-9. Same thing every time.

    can you post the source ? I cant think of anything of the top of my head. Unless you were masking something , and the mask didnt get applied. Either that or the image is corrupt. Have you tried , disabling / clearing your cache , in safari ? Also delete your aso files within the flash ide, export , and try viewing again.

    Sorry it took me so long to respond, I was away ion business. I tried deleting the aso files, but no luck. I don't think the image is corrupt, as I have resaved it several times using different settings in photoshop. It's still just a red block only on the .html page. Very frustrating. If I view the .swf file in the flash player, the whole thing looks perfect, but if I stype the .swf directly into the address bar of either browser, the jpeg turns red.

    What are the dimensions of the image? Have you tries remote debug session?

    well you really shouldn't be viewing the .swf file directly from a browser. The swf should be written into a div in an html page , or at the very least emebed as an object. I still dont think that would cause your image to turn red.

    It is embedded into an html page, I had just viewed it that way to see if it made a difference. I will tried remote debug and let you know.

    Also, image is about 250 px tall, and very wide, about 10,000 px
