Total Universe Mod
Well the show has a pre-written 5 year arch which can flex to 3 or 7 depending on interest. After 3 episodes, you really should have more questions than answers. The fact that dudes' fiance had a vision and he didn't should not appear as late writing. I take it as a suggestion that there's more to come. Sure after Heroes became a joke and what the hell Lost was, it's easy to assume this will let us down too. And coming from abc, that still a huge possibility. They're a frickn' Disney franchise for fk's sake. They're as disconnected as they come.
But you have to admit, it's a very creative and daunting concept. It's got to be a lot harder to keep it all straight when the entire globes population are characters in the show. I have faith so far that there are two possibly many acceptable timelines that could unfold. The concept of knowing and thus altering the future will likely become central to the point where none of the visions come true at all. I'm really not concerned about Schrödinger's cat atm. There's enough mystery in the who, what, how and why of what's already transpired to keep around for at least this season.
Ok, plot theory.
If the device shown in Ganwar was a test run I assume it generates something seismic in the human body much like animals are connected to air pressure making them aware of coming storms or tsunamis. If this particular device compresses the nervous system in some way it's conceivable that airborne animals have either more fragile nerves or are less grounded and are killed rather than rendered unconscious.
The being collectively knocked out is less mysterious than the visions.
There's plenty of fringe science that suggests some sort of neural network in certain species such as how birds fly in formation or ants learn each others trails. The best I can guess that we too share some sort of network that was no longer grounded in time when all of its nodes crashed thus allowing a worm-hole like jump to a different present explaining why everyone flashed the same amount of time forward. But given the chaos theory, seeing it changed it and/or the vision itself was altered due to those who project more internal energy possibly explaining why the fiance saw something she really really wanted where as Demetri was less enthused.

they are mixing the concepts of Lost and Heroes from their first seasons.
In Heroes, Hiro saw the future, and the entire season is about how everybody is trying to prevent it from happening (the exploding man in NY) while doing exactly the opposite (every time they tried something they got closer to the future they wanted to prevent). Flashforward is doing just that.
In Lost, they showed you everybode's back-story, trying to show you everyone in the island had a purpose to be there, but didn't explain it like until season 3 or so. Anyway, Flashforward is just doing that. The worst part is that it's not because it's a cool narrative device, but it's because it's a way to keep your attention (meaning, because it's possible the story itself isn't that interesting)....I bet after a few episodes, a big percentage of people will be watching the show because they want the answers from the first episodes, not because they enjoy the show or want to see more.
I think they should do something like Fringe, while not perfect (and even though it took like 10 episodes to start explaining what the pattern was) they managed to create a whole new universe, with many questions answered, a whole mythology, and still they have misteries and things to solve. And they did that in only 1 season.
Anyway, anything related to time will always have lots of plotholes no matter what, so I don't really care if the future they saw will happen or not. I just want to know: why did it happen, and why?
Oh, and I wonder what they're going to do if there's a season 2. I hope they answer the blackout in season 1 and move on with the consequences of it for the next season.

i just feel like i can already see this show circling the drain, and since its on the same channel as lost i just feel like the execs hold a meeting and some dick says something like "lets just keep throwing questions and make this a really really big mystery then people will keep coming back to find out how it ends"
And personally **** that. another couple of episodes like the last one and i will be getting off the flash forward bus, the only thing it has going for it is the night of the week its on. If this was on at the same time as CSI theres no doubt id choose csi over this.

I think your lack of DVR skews some of your opinions. You never got all the way on the Fringe bus and it's my favorite show second to Sons of Anarchy.

I don't like wannabe crime scene shows of any ilk. A holographic bone spectrometer? Really?

a device that knocks out the entire world and allows them to see the future? possibly controlled by 2 people?
There is technology in place for whats in bones, 3d holograms are already available. And its not like its doing anything impossible Its a 3d image that allows you to run simulations. Totally plausible. And its not really a crime scene show so much as a Crime dramedy. I laugh out loud at least once every episode.

What do I care about yet another show about public servants who may or may not sleep together some day. A global knock-out device on other hand is fresh and interesting. Now go play through the original mario bros. again

giant what the **** to last nights episode.
What a filler episode.
I really didn't need the slow motion music filled shootout at the end. The slow nod between the head of the unit and the drunk.
Shows how much i care for this show, I don't know a single persons name. ****ing harold doing the slow motion walking and shooting in the middle of a gun fight? really? he thinks hes going to die because of his flashforward and the first shootout hes in he goes ****ing rambo?
Im all for hot chicks kissing, but really? was it relevant in any way what so ever?
just such a huge let down.

I liked the whole senate hearing stuff but that's like two weeks of filler now. Got my doubts now.
