iPhone2
iPhone2 Found
You are looking at Apple's next iPhone. It was found lost in a bar in Redwood City, camouflaged to look like an iPhone 3GS. We got it. We disassembled it. It's the real thing, and here are all the details. [Gizmodo]

So, there's like 4 videos on that page...and they didn't turn the unit on in ANY one of them? I call shenanigans.
In addition, a company that has always been SO overprotective of their internal secrecy is going to entrust their latest tech release in the hands of a beer swilling 27 year old hipster d-bag? Please.

I've seen other "leaked" photos that looks just like that. Perhaps it really is legit. I bet that guy will get fired.
I also like how they stole the phone and didn't try to return it...

Why not press the power button? This reeks of BS.

Yeah that's the only thing that is screaming out fake. Or this is one of those planned leaks and they just want to show off what it looks like and not what the functionality is fully yet.

This article says it doesn't run anymore because Apple shut it down remotely.

Bricked remotely, through MobileMe
another gizmodo article
NYTimes article about it
damn you beat me to it.
-

If bricked remotely, it still should show the Apple at boot, right?
And... isn't this the fourth iPhone, or probably iPhone HD?

engadget has actually had a photo for months but didn't realize it because it was in the background of a photo of an ipad.

bleh,
Now that the Ipad free marketing promo is over. Apple decides to throw media a bone.
Keeps Apple in the press for free.
How hard would it be to slap up a non-functional device then drop it into the public eye?
A little disinformation goes a long way and it's a great way to get even with your detractors.
Take for instance the following articles

Moonlight shadow
Is it not the case that it uses new firmware, so no-one knows how to jailbreak it?
Probably is real though...

Dude, There is no confirmation that the said object had any os installed.
It could have been a super sleuth remote detonation device ala mission impossible or it could simply be a pretty box with wires of which the sole purpose is to attract attention ala burn notice.

Frets, it's real. Could it be a prototype? Yes. But I feel as if that what's been "leaked" is real. But not perhaps the final iteration of what will come out in the next couple of months.

I believe that apple would have to eventually come up with an iphone.
I'm just saying one red herring goes along way.
-
supervillain
No red herring. This thing might be more real than not.
Either way, people will know in two or so months.
